Instrument Cluster with thermo-formed dials
In an automobile, an electronic instrument cluster, digital instrument panel or digital dash for short, is a set of
instrumentation, including the speedometer
that is displayed with a digital readout rather than with the traditional analog gauges. Digital instrument clusters
give drivers more information in less time for added driving safety. Digital
instrument cluster displays need a color depth of at least 16 bits/pixel to
render gage needles drawn diagonally.
Black Face Instrument Cluster (Optitron)
Pricol is the
leading manufacturers and suppliers of Black Face Instrument Cluster
(Optitron). Black Face Cluster driving instruments are designed for greater clarity
and reduced eye fatigue. Ergonomically optimized, they use individual LEDs
(Light Emitting Diodes) on every figure and indicator needle, doing away with
traditional instrument illumination. Optitron provides outstandingly clear
readability - leading to less eyestrain - and enhanced driving concentration,
whatever the ambient light conditions. The instrument panel lights up when you
turn the ignition key.
Cruise Control Actuator
Cruise Control Actuator is the most often vacuum operated although some
actuators are electrically controlled with small, stepper type motors. The
actuator moves the linkage as directed by the cruise control module until the
set speed has been achieved. It then maintains this speed by controlling the
amount of vacuum. It actually modulates the vacuum as the pulses from the
control module direct.
Drowsy Driver Detection System
Driver drowsiness detection is a car safety technology which prevents accidents
when the driver is getting drowsy. A
system for detecting a drowsy driver includes an axle with a sensor for
measuring the movement of the axle and for producing an axle signal. The sensor
typically measures any or all of the following: the lateral acceleration of the
axle, the fore-aft acceleration of the axle, or the vehicle speed. A central
processing unit compares the axle signal derived from the sensor measurements
to a pre-determined drowsy threshold and an indicator indicates to the driver
that drowsiness has been detected when the axle signal exceeds the
pre-determined drowsy threshold.
Multiplexing
Multiplexing is the process of transmitting several different signals or
information streams via a single carrier. The transmission of all these signals or streams takes
place simultaneously by combining the several signals into one common signal
that will efficiently moves through the carrier bandwidth. Once the signal reaches the
destination point for one of the transmissions, that integrated signal
re-assimilates into its original form and is received.
Side Object Detection
Side object detection systems are designed to alert the driver to the
presence of vehicles that may be in the blind spot area of adjacent lanes of
traffic. Blind spot are the areas on both sides and rearward of a vehicle, not
visible within the rearview or door mirrors. Object detection system can be as
simple as using a convex mirror as part of the door mirrors, or it may be an
electronic system.
Central Locking System
A car with central locking security system helps the user to lock and
unlock doors at the press of a button. Mainly two types of central locking
systems are used in Auto industry - Automatic central locking system and Manual
central locking system that ensures smoother and secured operation. A central locking
system provides an overall protection to the vehicle. The most important
features that should be kept in mind while buying a central locking system are
-
·
Motion sensors that produce alarm
when an invader approaches your car
·
Remote Outputs allows user to add
features like remote starters or window controls
·
Effective glass break sensor
·
Easy installation
·
Simple in handling
·
Negligible maintenance
Digital Tachograph
A Digital Tachograph is a device fitted to a
vehicle that automatically records its speed and distance, together with the
driver's activity selected from a choice of modes. The drive
mode is activated automatically when the vehicle is in motion, and modern
tachograph heads usually default to the other
work mode upon coming to rest. The rest and availability
modes can be manually selected by the driver whilst stationary.
